The Awards

Finally, at the end of the Competition, the winners were announced. 

First, four awards were given to outstanding actors, then the

award was given to the 1st Runner-up of the

Playwrights Competition, followed by the announcement of the Winner.

 

Judge Justin Pike announced the Best Actress Winners:

Carly Gear, Mena High School and
Morgan Herrin, Lake Hamilton High School

 

Judge Justin Pike announced the Best Actor Awards:

Chris Kuakahela, Mena High School and

Derek Staggs, Searcy High School

 

Judge Jeff Bailey announced the 1st Runner-Up of the Playwrights Competition:

Allison Austin of Mena High School.

Sarah Swain and Morgan Meeds of Searcy High School.

 

Sarah Swain and Morgan Meeds hold their 1st Place trophy.

 

Our playwrights, Morgan Meeds, Sarah Swain, Cris Reeves, Joe Kalinowski,
Jil Lana Treece, Victoria Featherston and Allison Austin, took their final bows, and the
2013 Arkansas Young Playwrights Competition came to a close. 

 

It was a wonderful day, a fantastic Competition, and
we discovered some really talented new playwrights.  We can't wait for next year!
