The Arkansas Young Playwrights Competition was founded in 2003 as a way to identify Arkansas high school students who have an interest in writing and to encourage them to pursue their talents as playwrights.
The 2104 Arkansas Young Playwrights Competition was held on Nov. 1 at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, and the winners were Madison Sherrer and Hannah Lochala of Mena High School. Madison and Hannah won for their comedy, "Her Outlook, His Perspective and Their Point of View".
Below, the 2013 winner, Sarah Swain (right), presents the 2014 trophy to Hannah Lochala. Madison Sherrer was not present.
